Electricity

There is no standard voltage in Brasil. Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo provide 110 or 220 volt, 60 cycle alternating current (AC). Salvador and Manaus have 127 volt service, whereas Fortaleza, Recife, Brasilia and a number of other cities have 220 volt service.
Outlets in Brazil generally accept 2 types of plug:

Flat blade plug
  Two round pins

If your appliances plug has a different shape, you may need a plug adapter.
Most hotels, however, provide transformers and/or adapters for guests.
