Visa and Customs requirements

Many nationals need a visa to enter Brazil and this can easily be obtained from the nearest Brazilian Consulate/Embassy. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the intended date of arrival. Tourist visa normally allow the visitor to stay for three months and this can be extended for a further three-month period if necessary. Regarding Customs regulations, visitors may bring clothing and personal belongings such as radio, tape deck, film or VC camera. Up to two bottles of liquor and two cartons of cigarettes are also allowed per person, provided the passenger carries them by him/herself.
